Fresh and New Little Love | Hospital Newborn Photographer AL Gulf Coast

I’m so excited to share this hospital newborn session with you. This family is so, so joyful and full of love. It’s very fitting that their fresh and new little love was born on Valentine’s Day. <3

Say hello to Mr. X at one day new. The sun was sinking in the sky, giving off a beautiful soft light when I arrived at Providence for his session. The room was full of happy faces, with smiles beaming from ear to ear. Big brother and sister were obviously smitten. Big sis couldn’t stop staring at and softly touching her little brother. Beyond love and excitement, there was also an air of peacefulness in the room, with much praise and many words of gratitude being offered for X’s safe and healthy arrival. It was truly a beautiful scene.

We’ll get to see more of little X at his newborn session as well, which took place when he was thirteen days new. I’m so happy to have been there to capture the sheer joy around his arrival, and can’t wait to share more of his Grow With Me photos with you.

Until then, here are some highlights from this little love’s fresh 48 session. Enjoy!

He was watching me so intensely. <3

Newborn toes are always among my favorite to photograph. They change so quickly!

Another favorite to capture. There’s just something about seeing a tiny baby with the great big world waiting outside the window.

Tiny Baby Brother | Newborn Photographer Mobile, AL

I’m always excited to find out when previous clients are expecting again. When I found out sweet W was expecting a tiny baby brother, I clapped with joy. Say hello to little J!

Little J was such a peanut! He slept so soundly and gave me lots of smiles during his newborn session. Just as before, there was such an amazing amount of love surrounding this family. I could have stayed and photographed them all day long.

It’s always fun seeing tiny new babies alongside older siblings. I can’t help but compare their features, recalling that big sister or brother was just as little when we first met. All too quickly those wrinkly newborn hands become the sticky, chubby hands of a toddler. In the blink of an eye that chubbiness is gone too, and those hands have the making of a fine young adult. Our little ones are forever changing, and nothing leads to the wistful longing of days past quite like seeing your big baby holding your littlest one. We might not have time machines, but we have photographs – which is kinda the same thing. 😉

Here are just a few highlights from baby brother J’s newborn session, plus a quick flashback/glance at his big sis at her newborn session. And if you’d like to inquire about a session or Grow With Me Plan for yourself, I’d be happy to hear from you. Enjoy!

Just look at that sweet little yawn! Big sis was so happy and proud of her baby brother.

Momma was hanging out with her little man while I got ready to change backgrounds. When I looked down and saw him smile again, I just had to capture the moment.

And as promised, one of big sis at her newborn session. I had to dig deep in my archives for this one. Can you see the family resemblance?

Tiny Footprints | Hospital Newborn Photography

The hospital session I’m sharing today isn’t quite like others I’ve shared in the past. A few years ago I signed up as a volunteer for The Tiny Footprints Project. TTFP is a non-profit organization designed to match families with newborns living in the NICU with professional photographers willing and able to donate a hospital lifestyle session. The session I’m sharing today is one I photographed as a TTFP volunteer. This beautiful little girl may indeed have had some tiny footprints, yet they made a big impression on me.

It was a rather cold, though beautiful sunny day when I met “Little Bit” and her family at USA Women’s and Children’s for her photo session – such a strong little one, with the spirit of a fighter. And her family was simply amazing. There was no denying the head over heals kind of love her mommy and daddy have for her. I could see their emotions bubbling up, and overflowing — so much joy and happiness looking down at her. And the exciting thing — they got to hold her for the first time while I was there! It was simply a privilege to be there. In the words of her family, “She is beautiful, and the strongest little girl we have ever met. Her bones will always be brittle, but she will grow up with a spirit to never give up and to never give in.”

I think it’s safe to say most parents-to-be don’t daydream of spending days, weeks, or even months in the NICU with their newborn. While it isn’t the beginning most dream of, it’s the reality so many face. And having a little one in the NICU isn’t easy. It’s stressful. It’s complicated. It can be scary. However, it’s important to realize it’s also beautiful. A family’s love is beautiful. Life is beautiful – miraculous even. No matter the circumstances… no matter the location… little ones are this small only once. Photographs capture that forever. As I’m fond of saying, “Pictures are moments. Moments are memories. And memories are life.”

To learn more about the Tiny Footprints project, check them out on Facebook, or visit their website.

Here are some highlights from Little Bit’s session. Enjoy!

Announcing Big News | Mobile Maternity Photographer

What a fun change of pace I had at this maternity session – or should I call it a maternity session pre-session? When I was asked by a very special couple to help in announcing their big news with photos, I may or may not have jumped up and down.

This beautiful mama-to-be contacted me with an idea she had in her head. We talked about it and looked at her inspiration photos. After all, when you’re expecting your first baby it’s pretty exciting news. The hard part was waiting for the session. Once the day came, we couldn’t have asked for better weather – clear skies and a beautiful sunset. The end result? Beautiful, fun photos to announce their pregnancy. It was such an exciting time for their family. And by “their family” I mean my family, because this very special couple is my actually my brother and sister-in-law! And the little gummy bear in her belly is my niece! <3 You’ll be seeing a lot more of them in the near future. 🙂

If you’re expecting and interested in a session – to announce or document your pregnancy – please contact me.

Here are a few highlights from their pregnancy announcement session. Enjoy!

Little Sister Flashback | Baby Milestone Photographer Mobile, AL

The absolute best part about playing catch up on blog posts is getting to look back through memories I’ve captured for my clients! I’ve thoroughly enjoyed looking back at sweet Miss A’s milestone. She’s grown up so much since then. Time sure does fly. This session is a flashback in more ways than one. 🙂

I was so happy to hear from this mama, and super excited to hear Baby A had a little sister! I photographed this precious girl nearly 2 years to the date after her big sister’s first milestone session with me. These darling sisters have birthdays close to one another, had the same adorable nursery, and even share the same initials. PLUS, we photographed little sister in the same fashion with one of the same outfits big sister had worn! Such a fun flashback. <3

I enjoyed watching these sisters interact with each other – typical siblings in every way. 🙂 I’m looking forward to looking through and sharing the next session I had with Miss A – hopefully very soon!

Here are a few highlights from the session. If you would like to book a milestone session for your own little one, please let me know. Enjoy!
