Say hello to sprecious Miss A! This darling girl was 11 days new at her baby session. I thoroughly enjoyed photographing this beautiful family.
When Miss A’s mommy first contacted me, she expressed a desire for lifestyle photos of their family at the session. I love lifestyle newborn photos! What’s so great about in-home sessions is being able to capture the “realness” of this special time by including the environment that is unique to each family – especially the nursery. Nurseries afterall, are designed for babies. As our children grow and their needs change, we gradually change their environment, too. Therefore, I always plan to include both lifestyle and simply posed images in every newborn gallery. To me, both are important in capturing your story in pictures. Because, not only do I want my clients to reminisce about just how tiny their baby once was — I want them to be transported back in time when looking at their photos years from now.
This is only the first of many sessions with this amazing family. You’ll be seeing more of her Grow With Me Plan sessions in the near future!
We started with some lifestyle family photos in their livingroom.
Then we moved into the entry way where they had a blank wall I gladly took advantage of.
I’m a sucker for black and white photos, and these are some of my favorites!
Afterwards it was onto the nursery. I loved how Miss A’s mommy had special quilts on display. The one framed on the wall was hers as a little girl!
Here’s another quilt that was passed on to Miss A from her parents’ childhood. If memory serves me correctly, this adorable elephant was her daddy’s. And just look at that sweet smile she gave us while laying on it!
Tone on tone set-ups are some of my favorites – escpecially white. There’s something so timeless about it.
Same pose, different perspectives. <3 the profile shot!
Miss A woke up when it was time for a backdrop change. Don’t let the closed eyes fool you, she didn’t fall back asleep. It was just a quick blink!
After a few quick changes to the wrap and headband, she did snooze again for a short time. Mama decided on a Christmas themed headband to use for holiday cards that year. So pretty with the little gold flecks of the blanket.
We tried one more set-up change and managed just a few before sweet Miss A decided she was done. Again — just one quick blink gives the illusion of sleep. <3
You’re so amazing little A! I’m thrilled to have been able to capture these moments for you. <3
