I’m thrilled to finally be introducing sweet Baby P. At 8 amazing days new, this little beauty was a star at her in home newborn session!

Just about 4 weeks ago I got to meet Miss P and her family. She started out bright eyed – looking around everywhere. I love having the chance to photograph newborns when they are awake. More often than not their eye color changes, so it always feels special to document how they look so early on. When it came time for family photos, little P slept soundly in mommy and daddy’s arms. She was more than content being held. She wasn’t a fan of being uncovered, and most certainly did not want to be on her tummy — which was more than okay. Every baby has his/her own personality and I work with that, keeping baby’s comfort in mind. Her gallery was simply beautiful and filled with good variety.

Oh darling little P — you are such a precious little girl. You have an amazing family who loves you very, very much. I am so happy to have been able to capture these little details of you. Details that all too quickly change. Someday soon your parents are going to wonder how you were ever this small, and you’ll hear them tell you time and time again you’re growing too fast. When you look back on these photos, perhaps you’ll understand. If not at that time, eventually… Just know you’ve changed their lives forever, and that they will always see you as their baby girl.

If you’d like to find out more about having an at home newborn session for your own little one, I’d be happy to hear from you.

Here are just a few highlights from this new baby girl’s in home session. Enjoy!

I’m way overdue for a blog post! I’ve been rather busy over the past few months with life in general on top of photo sessions, so it’s time to start catching up. 🙂 I’m going to start with a maternity session from earlier in March. This family is due to welcome a new baby any day now, becoming a family of four. And they’re team blue again!

This sweet couple and their little boy are certainly not new to the blog. It’s always such a pleasure meeting up with them. Capturing this special time of anticipation for them was no exception. I could hardly believe how much big brother R has grown since his newborn session last year and can’t wait to see how alike he and little brother O will look.

Before their last maternity session, we were watching the weather very closely. I had quite the sense of déjà vu, as the day before this session the weather was less than pleasant. Just as before, it all worked out in the end making for beautiful photos. And their love for each other and baby boy on the way was just as apparent as well.

If you’d like to capture memories of your own pregnancy, let me know.

Here are a few highlights from the session. (I had a hard time narrowing it down!) Enjoy!

Say hello to Little Miss F! This beautiful beaming baby girl was 14 days new at her newborn session. She had quite a few smiles for us.

Miss F was my third little girl in a row to photograph! And she was just as darling as the other two. It was another cold day outside. We’ve had so many days with 70+ degree weather recently it was nice to have a little reminder that winter is still indeed going on. The day started a bit overcast, though ended up nice and sunny. Sweet F was wide awake when we got started taking family photos. Being safe and warm in her mommy’s loving arms soon lulled her to sleep. As it turned out she didn’t want to have anything to do with being on her tummy, and decided half way through the session she’d rather be awake than asleep. Both were perfectly okay. Every baby is different, so every session is different — which is something I really enjoy.

Baby Girl — I enjoyed meeting you and your mommy and daddy. It’s obvious they both love you very much, and dote over you. It was a pleasure seeing your beautiful smiles, and capturing you as you are right now. I was just yesterday talking to a friend about how these days are long and the years are short. One day in the not-so-distant future, your mommy will find herself wondering how you were ever small enough to fit inside of her belly. One day she’ll tell you all about it and you’ll also be amazed – because it truly is an amazing thing. You are amazing. Never forget that.

Here are just a few highlights from Baby F’s session. Enjoy! (Let me know if you’re considering a newborn session. I’d love to capture the beginning of your own little one’s story in pictures, too.)

Introducing Little Miss S! This dark haired beauty was only 10 days new at her newborn session. And I have to say… she’s one angelic baby!

This sweet girl’s newborn photo session took place on one of the coldest days we’ve seen in Mobile this season. Even though it was freezing, the sun was shining bright, making it a beautiful day to take her pictures. Besides, we were nice and toasty inside. 😉 Little Miss S had a bath just before I arrived, and was wide awake. She really liked having her hands near her face, so she wasn’t happy at first when I wrapped them up. Soon there after, she drifted off to sleep. To keep from waking her up at the beginning, I avoided unwrapping her by layering wraps on top. She slept soundly until I went to free her arms. After a snack break and re-wrapping she fell asleep once more, this time giving me the chance to free her arms and legs for a few pictures. All in all this little beauty did magnificently.

Sweet Little S, I very much enjoyed meeting you and could have held you all day long. You have a such sweet temperament that only added to your natural beauty. Thank you for helping me start this year out on a happy note. I hope these photos will bring you and your family many happy thoughts throughout the years.

One last thing — I have to say Miss S’s hands and feet brought a smile to my face. Those little flakes of skin were a testament to her marvelous journey these past 9 months, and to the brevity of this newborn stage. They will soon be gone, leaving behind a faint memory. Without photographs, the little details like this are the ones that would be lost forever. If you’d like to document the fleeting newness of your own little one after birth, let me know.

Say hello to Little Miss H! This curly haired beauty was only 7 days new at her newborn session. She’s simply too precious for words.

This little beauty made her arrival a little ahead of schedule. She couldn’t wait another minute to be with her Mommy, Daddy, and big sister. It was foggy and overcast at the beginning of the session yesterday, though the sun had decided to start peeking out before the end. All in all it turned out to be a beautiful day for her photos. At less than 7 pounds, Miss H was the smallest baby I’ve photographed in a while. And she was also one of the deepest sleepers, too, only waking up twice. The first time she fell back asleep as soon as I swaddled her. The second time she decided to take a look at what was going on, allowing me to capture her eyes open. Miss H is just as sweet and beautiful as her big sister. It’s not always easy work for a two year old to be still long enough for photos, though I think big sis did very well, both yesterday and when we took maternity photos last month. (Certainly better than my twins did at nearly 3 when their baby brother came along! lol)

Precious little one, you are indeed a curly haired beauty. I could have stayed around taking pictures of you all day. You may be small now, though you will grow up soon enough. Growing up is not an easy thing for parents to think about when you’re so tiny — especially when they’ve already experienced first hand how quickly their children grow up. I imagine your sister will be more than eager to show you the ropes once you’re up and moving around. And once you have grown up, you and your family will have these pictures to look back on and wonder at how small you once were.

Here are just a few highlights from Baby H’s session. Enjoy! (Let me know if you’re considering capturing the beginning of your own little one’s story in pictures.)
